Estimates

Are quoted verbally over the phone or by email and text message and are subject to change once the car is inspected. We will notify you of this and ask for authorisation for any additional work outside of our estimate. This is because there may be extra labour, parts and consumables needed for certain jobs not visible until dismantled or into the job.

Once a vehicle or wheel is brought into the workshop and disassembled, if additional damage beyond cosmetic painting, repairs, or refurbishment is identified (e.g., structural damage, welding remanufacture required at the front face, or back face) this will incur additional charges. This includes all vehicles in for servicing and MOT repairs.

Payment and Retention

All items remain in custody of JWR until payment is made in full, you accept this upon booking with deposit payment. All deposits are non-refundable. Bookings can be rescheduled 72 hours prior to booking without any penalty. All repairs not paid for on completion and collected the same day will incur a £25 per day storage charge.

Booking charges and deposits

A deposit is required for all mobile repairs. For a booking of a full set of four wheels, the deposit is £120, payable by BACS.

For bookings of fewer than four wheels, a £75 call-out/service charge applies for collections.

We waive the booking deposit and the £75 service charge where the job is within 3 miles of our base and is for a set of four wheels being done at the same time.

Warranty

All parts and labour guaranteed as per manufacturers listing which is usually a minimum of 1 year. A 12 month warranty applies to all single-colour finished alloys, calipers, and bodywork. A 6-month warranty applies to diamond-cut finished alloys.

Warranty does not cover damage to alloys caused by the removal and fitting of tyres, kerb impacts, stone chips, or the use of abrasive liquid cleaner, sponges, or similar materials.

All One-Colour and Diamond-Cut Finishes

Customers should be aware that refinished wheels may vary slightly in colour, shade, texture, gloss level and overall appearance when compared with wheels that have not been refurbished, wheels previously refurbished elsewhere, or the vehicle’s original factory finish.

In particular, a newly diamond-cut wheel will have a bright, reflective machined finish. Even where another wheel on the vehicle has been refurbished relatively recently, variations in machining, powder coating, lacquer application, materials, equipment used and the natural ageing of existing finishes may result in noticeable differences between wheels.

These differences can be particularly apparent when comparing the front and rear wheels on the same side of the vehicle, as both wheels are often visible simultaneously when viewing the vehicle from the side.

For the best possible consistency in colour, finish and shine, JWR strongly recommends refurbishing the complete set of wheels or, as a minimum, both wheels on the same side of the vehicle at the same time.

Customers are not obliged to follow this recommendation; however, where individual wheels are refurbished, the customer accepts that an exact match with the remaining wheels cannot be guaranteed.

Our powder-coating systems, ovens, equipment, materials, preparation methods and application techniques may differ from those used by the original manufacturer or by previous repairers. Consequently, a refurbished finish cannot be guaranteed to exactly replicate either an existing finish or the finish of a newly manufactured factory wheel.

JWR will always endeavour to achieve the closest and highest-quality finish reasonably possible, taking into consideration the age, condition, corrosion and previous repairs of the wheels presented to us.

By paying a deposit and confirming a booking, the customer acknowledges and accepts the possibility of these reasonable variations in colour, finish and appearance.

Refurbished Wheels Disclaimer

All refurbished wheels may display minor imperfections inherent to the refurbishment process and the working environment. While we strive to minimize these, imperfections such as pitting in the metal, dust, or swarf may still be visible in the final finish. This is due to the fact that we are repairing damaged wheels rather than working with new manufactured alloys. JWR takes every necessary step to ensure the highest quality outcome possible.

Please note that no warranty is provided on crack repaired alloy wheels, as we cannot control the condition of the road surfaces you drive on. We do not refit tyres that are damaged, exposing cords, heavily perished or below legal requirements, no exceptions.
